What are the economic effects of terrorism?

Toute Economie Lyon

Twenty years ago, the New York attacks marked a break in the history of international terrorism. For the first time, a sovereign state declared war on a terrorist organization. Terrorism will now be seen as a global issue, just like environmental degradation or pandemics. This session will focus on the economic consequences of terrorism, in the light of recent academic research. It will discuss the effects of the attacks on the well-being and behavior of affected populations in rich countries and, also, in developing countries. It will also examine the effects of terrorism on globalization, via the international flows of goods and people.
