TMENA2 2019 Workshop 7th February

TMENA2 Workshop sur la radicalisation

This workshop, organised in the framework of the ANR TMENA2 project on “Terrorism, Radicalization and Government Policy in MENA. (website: http://tmena2.com/). The workshop will take place on the 7th of February 2019, in Aix-en-Provence. This meeting will gather some of the project members with a panel of invited experts on the subject of terrorism and radicalisation.

The ANR-TMENA2 project gathers researchers from Europe and the North of Africa. We focus on violence, radicalisation and spillover effects on Europe. Some of the questions we are trying to answer are: What are individual determinants of political participation protest and radicalisation in the MENA region?, What is the dynamics of social policies and labour market conditions in the MENA region and how are these policies and other government reforms interlinked with increasing violence, protests and radicalisation in MENA or in Europe? In that sense, we are particularly interested in radicalisation processes, in Europe or elsewhere. This workshop will also be the opportunity to spark an interesting and fruitful discussion, beneficial to all parties and communicate on the advancement of knowledge on these crucial issues and the achievements of the project so far.
